The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include: • Preparation of each child for primary education • Mastering the basic skills of expression, communication, problem solving, early mathematics, creativity, knowledge of the world around us, experimentation and exploration and also physical development • The ability to relate to other
children and adults These benefits are evidenced through: • Interviews (at least twice a year) where there is a two way sharing of information between staff and parents/carers, where staff observations and progress reports are used to inform parents/carers • Parental questionnaires to gain opinions of parents/carers • Voice of the child • The well-being of the children eg. Personal, social and emotional development, child protection and healthy eating policies • Annual inspection by Social Service Trust and regular inspection by Education and Training Inspectorate (Department of Education) There is no harm flowing from the purpose. The charities beneficiaries are all children aged 3 years to statutory school age, without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion. A private benefit may arise occasionally through attendance at training for management committees and management committee members may gain skills that are transferable to other settings, these benefits are incidental and necessary to the provision of the benefit to our beneficiaries. This benefit is evidenced through: • Parents/carers and staff attending relevant training courses, implementing knowledge gained and evaluating the practice This purpose does not give rise to any harm The beneficiaries of this purpose are: • All children aged 3 years to statutory school age, without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion. A private benefit may arise occasionally through attendance at training for management committees and management committee members may gain skills that are transferable to other settings, these benefits are incidental and necessary to the provision of the benefit to our beneficiaries. To promote the public interest in, and recognition of the needs of the beneficiaries and their families in the local area. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are: • Parent/carers and staff avail of training, to gain a wider knowledge of the development and social needs and behaviours of children so that they can tailor their care and educational programme according to the unique needs of every child. • To promote equal opportunities for beneficiaries, parents/carers and staff and other interested people in the community. This benefit is evidenced through: • Parental questionnaires to gain the opinion of parent/carers • Parents/carers and other interested parties, represented on the management committee and other sub committees • Community involvement and interest. We promote, sustain and increase individual and collective knowledge of approx 40 3-4 year olds every year (September - June). We offer two and three quarter hours of pre-school education, twice a day, five days a week to children of families in the surrounding area regardless of disability, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious
opinion. We deliver quality pre-school education through implementing the NI pre-school curriculum and we are inspected by ETI and NHSCT annually helping us to maintain high standards in all areas of childcare.
