The public benefits which flow from the purposes of the charity are as follows: Advancing education through educational courses and recreational and practical experiences thereby improving the capacity of children, young people and parents/carers by developing their education, individual capabilities and life skills with a focus on their mental,

emotional, social and physical health. Community development – working with individuals and families at grassroots level in our local community we run specific programmes and activities which encourages the participation of families and individuals in community to include a preschool, parent & toddler group and parenting courses. The provision of a child bereavement course, active listening and counselling service enhances the capacity of family support services and builds local infrastructure for people in our community. Promoting health and mutual support among families using a holistic approach through the provision of relevant services to include support through training, mentoring and recreation facilities, thereby increasing the understanding and discovery of their spiritual make up and personal inner resources, resulting in improved mental and emotional health and wellbeing of the beneficiaries. By promoting and supporting parents through this holistic approach they are enabled to provide a safe and stable family home environment and improved conditions of life for children, young people and families. These benefits are demonstrated by the number of referrals received and attendance numbers at events, through practical experiences and lifestyle changes, evaluation and feedback from attendees, and regular monitoring and evaluation of our services. The beneficiaries are the children, young people, parents/carers and family units of those who access our services, and the wider community. There is no harm or possibility of harm flowing from the organisation’s purposes.

What your organisation does

Ballyclare Family Focus is a Family Support Organization working with individuals and families at grassroots level in our local community. The organization is established to advance education including community education, religious education, lifelong learning to promote, sustain, and increase individual and collective knowledge of specific areas

of study. The development of individual capabilities, skills and understanding builds confidence and increases responsibility. Other areas of work include befriending, mentoring, active listening and counselling; early intervention initiatives include parenting courses and addressing hidden harm issues; identifying current trends and needs through ongoing research; working with referrals, providing an advocacy service, working collaboratively to receive referrals and to signpost to other family support services as required by the individual; supporting individuals to secure housing and provide a safe and stable home environment for their children.

Charitable purposes

3.1 The Association is a Christian faith based organization established to advance education, community development and to promote health and mutual support among families in the Ballyclare area (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, the inhabitants of the area of benefit and the said families in a common effort to provide relevant services, training, support and facilities in the interests of education and/or recreation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said families and in particular to; a) maintain and manage or co-operate with any local authority in the maintenance of a centre or centres in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the association ( hereinafter called "the Centre").
