This Trustee will be assigned a support service in the same way as all other beneficaries therefore it is incidental. (b) - The benefits which flow from this purpose include increasing individual and collective knowledge and understanding of issues that impact on lesbian and bisexual women. - The benefits will be demonstrated though feedback from service users and regular evaluation of our services - There is no possibility of harm - The benefits of this purpose are provided to women who are or who may be lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity as well as professionals who work with this group - There is no private benefit (c) - The benefits which will flow from this purpose include increasing individual and collective knowledge and understanding of issues that impact on lesbian and bisexual women and to allow for best practice. - The benefits will be demonstrated though feedback from service users, regular evaluation of our services and official statistics - There is no possibility of harm - The benefits of this purpose are provided to women who are or who may be lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity and professionals who may work with this group - There is no private benefit (d) - The benefits which flow from this purpose include the promotion of human rights, equality and diversity in pursuit of the elimination of discrimination in relation to lesbian and bisexual women - The benefits will be demonstrated though feedback from service users, regular evaluation of our services and official statutory and government statistics - There is no possibility of harm - The benefits of this purpose are provided to women who are or who may be lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity - There is no private benefit (f) - The benefits which flow from this purpose are increased abilities, self confidence and increased participation in life - The benefits will be demonstrated though feedback from service users, regular evaluation of our services - There is no possibility of harm - The benefits of this purpose are provided to women who are or who may be lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity - There is no private benefit (g) - The benefits which flow from this purpose are participation in a range of art/cultural community based activities that will lead to increased positive mental health and increased skills - The benefits will be demonstrated though feedback from service users, regular evaluation of our services - There is no possibility of harm - The benefits of this purpose are provided to women who are or who may be lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity - The private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a Trustee who may use some of our support services. What your organisation does

(a) HERe NI provide a range of support services and information ranging from one to one mentoring, peer support, personal development, health programmes. (b) HERe NI provide representation on key issues impacting on lesbian and bisexual women to health providers, service providers and and government bodies. We also provide sexual orientation

awareness training to a range of organisations. (c) HERe NI assist a range of organisations working with lesbian and bisexual women by providing much needed information. We also are key players in steering groups producing research to advance knowledge and learning on issues that impact on lesbian and bisexual women. We also provide sexual orientation awareness training to a range of organisations. (d) HERe NI campaigns and lobbies central and local government, and other statutory agencies on issues pertinent to the promotion of human rights, equality and diversity of lesbian and bisexual women, including being part of the development of a Sexual Orientation Strategy and Action Plan. (f) We facilitate a range of programmes and peer support groups that include one to one mentoring, personal development and other health and wellbeing services/courses that support lesbian and bisexual women. (g) HERe NI facilitates a range of community based arts and cultural activities aimed at lesbian and bisexual women.

Charitable purposes

The Company’s objects are the promotion of equality, diversity and human rights, the advancement of education, the promotion, protection and preservation of physical and mental health and wellbeing and for the benefit of women who are or who may be lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity (hereinafter called the “beneficiaries”) in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (“hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) by associating the statutory and local authorities, voluntary organisations and the beneficaries in a common effort to advance education and promote diversity with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said beneficaries and in particular: (a) to promote the preservation and protection of emotional and mental health and relieve the mental and emotional distress of women who are lesbian, bisexual or who are in doubt about their sexual identity or those who may be affected by, or involved with, such women by the provision of information, support, help and advice; (b) to advance public awareness and the education of the general public in relation to lesbian and bisexual issues history and culture; (c) to advance education among funders, researchers, voluntary and community organisations and local and statutory agencies who work with, or provide services to lesbian and bisexual women in the area of benefit by providing research and information in order to assist in the promulgation of effective policies, initiatives and good practice affecting the beneficiaries and to disseminate the useful results of such research for the public benefit; (d) to promote human rights, equality and diversity in pursuit of the elimination of discrimination in relation to lesbian and bisexual women; (f) to promote or assist in the promotion, facilitation and organisation of community capacity building programmes and projects for the benefit of the beneficiaries who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity, or social and economic circumstances in an effort to increase their abilities, skills, self-confidence and participation in social, cultural, political and economic life; (g) To promote the arts and encourage the beneficiaries to participate actively in community-based arts and cultural activities.
