Public benefits

1. To Promote community development and amateur sport by providing advice and financial support to groups, organisations and clubs. Our Organisation shows community development by bringing both sides of our community together within the structure of the various projects we support. Through sport and arts projects both stress and anxiety in the

public health is reduced substantially. Evidence of this seen through people in these groups we support. This support enables those in the community of Portrush area to part take in forms of sport on their doorstep as the town of Portrush no longer has a community hall or youth club for community use on neutral territory. PCE provide a small indoor space for such projects for a few of these groups to operate and use freely, all overheads being covered by PCE. The public benefit from the library space provides an essential community facility supported by PCE, the computer suit originally funded by PCE in the library directly benefits many people in the community on low income who may have no computer or internet facilities. 2. To relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship and other disadvantaged. PCE has over a number of years provided benefit to youth groups through the supply of funding towards the provision of new kit and or new equipment. More recently, support to the local amateur boxing club through provision of a new venue to use in safety and also to local musicians, bands, we supplied a fully kitted music rehearsal space inclusive area to network and provide advice. PCE directly benefits all age groups through our support to the NEELB library building insures all age groups are catered for. By supporting the local youth football, boxing club, we relieve some of those in need within the local community. The knock on effect of this ensures a more cohesive community element whilst the levels of disturbance through youth crime can be reduced substantially. 3. To advance improvement of the built environment and improve or provide public amenities. PCE has directly benefited the public amenities of Portrush through the establishment of the library building and the further development of the Arts centre. The general environment of Portrush is improved substantially through our continued maintenance of an important listed building where the library is housed, and ensuring the preserve of local heritage. PCE also fund supply several apartments for general residential use at reasonable levels of rent, income raised from these apartments and the library building are channelled directly into the local community of Portrush by supplying vital services and affordable accommodation, the upkeep of these buildings directly affects the appearance of Portrush as a whole, because PCE maintain this too the overall aesthetic look of the town is more pleasing. The private benefit to the rest of the buildings on Causeway street is therefore effected by the upkeep of PCE property. Currently there is no other suitable buildings whereby a facility such as the library could be housed and is therefore of huge benefit to the community of Portrush. 4. To Promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined. The charities beneficiaries are the community of Portrush and the surrounding area. Through our buildings the groups who use these all directly benefit whilst the public in general benefit from having these facilities to avail of. The PCE group tries to promote all local charities and also donates funds directly to other small groups such as Portrush Heritage group, Portrush Film Theatre group, Pirates of Portrush, such groups are worthwhile as they also provide community facilities across Portrush, Particularly in an area of social depravation. Over the years PCE have has funded much bigger projects, such as community planting project, a visitor help service to the elderly in the Portrush area.
