The direct benefits which flow from the institutes purposes (i) local, national and international issues of political and social importance, (ii) music, drama and other cultural subjects and (iii) all branches of agriculture, crafts, home economics, science, health and social welfare. Examples of this is that Tamlaght WI social events for members
and public, lectures of cultural issues and social issues, support for a Local Food bank through food collection and awareness. Tamlaght WI also run an annual bowls competition promoting activity within its members and held cookery demonstrations, teaching new skills to all who attended. The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include provision of a range of educational, social and recreational activities mainly based within the Tamlaght WI Hall, Tamlaght for members of the local community living within the Tamlaght district, members of other neigbouring communities within county Fermanagh, providing them with the opportunity to avail of activities that assist improve their educational attainment, health, social interaction and their conditions of life through accessing services and activities that would not normally made available to them. Examples of activities provided being social dances, farmers information courses and talks and coffee mornings. Many of these activities are organised by the association linking with other statutory organisations and voluntary organisations. Benefits of the activities are evidenced by measurement of numbers participating in activities and receiving of feedback from participants. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Tamlaght WI.

The current Tamlaght Women’s Institute (WI) is set up in the rural townland of Tamlaght, though membership is gathered from surrounding townlands. The most significant work of the Tamlaght WI is the construction and upkeep of the local Women’s Institute hall. The group meets monthly and offers classes of cookery and craft skills and lectures of
different subjects such as Hymn writing and social issues. Other activities such as sewing, brooch making, flower arranging and card making also take place and outings to historical or significant locations take place throughout the year for our members.
