(B) Public Benefit Statement (purpose 1) The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are; (1) Increased knowledge and enhanced skills within the community and voluntary sector and the wider community in the area of benefit to improve quality of life for all sections of the community. (2) Encouraging and developing good practice among the
sector ensures the maximum benefit to the public is achieved through the development of a sustainable, efficient and effective community sector. (3) The provision of a neutral community facility for meetings and events to facilitate and encourage relationship building among community members and offer space for community services to take place where appropriate. (4) The provision of assistance in applications for grants by the voluntary sector (5) The provision of assistance in the administration of funding programmes for the voluntary sector. Public Benefit Statement (Purpose 2) The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are; (1) The development of social and community infrastructure through the promotion of social inclusion and collaborative working across the community and voluntary sector to ensure the best use of resources. (2) The development of a community sector in the area of benefit that can engage with statutory agencies in the decision making process on local issues therefore increasing community involvement in community planning and ensuring a better quality of life for residents. These benefits are evidenced through monitoring the number of participants attending consultation and networking events and increased community involvement in decision making at a local level. Public Benefit Statement (Purpose 3) The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are: (1) Participation in training courses will facilitate the development of individual skills, capabilities, competencies and understanding will build the confidence and capacity of participants (2) Participants will develop skills that increase employability and volunteering ability (3) The development of a better skilled workforce and volunteer network Public Benefit Statement (Purpose 4 ) The direct benefits that flows from this purpose are: (1) Improved relations between all sections of the community including people of different racial, ethnic or religious groups by promoting knowledge and understanding between them. (2) The elimination of discrimination on the grounds of age, gender, religion, race, marital status, sexual orientation, political opinion or disability.
