We aim to provide a service to aid the Disabled and mobility impaired to get around out and about their local community, shopping and socialising. The purpose of Shopmobility Ballymena is to relieve the needs of people with disabilities and mobility issues in the Ballymena area and also visitors to Ballymena area. The direct benefits that flow from
this purpose are the breaking down of isolation, enhancing the independence and improving the quality of life of people with limited mobility. These benefits are evidenced through the increasing numbers of people using our service and the feedback received from members, their family and care givers. Our service involves the provision of powered mobility scooters and wheelchairs. We provide training to our members in the safe use of our equipment, ensuring members are able to use the equipment safely and ensuring equipment is fit for purpose. Accidents are extremely rare and the benefits of our service outweigh any risks. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose of our organisation. Beneficiaries of Shopmobility Ballymena are people with limited mobility their family and their Carers, living in or visiting the Ballymena area.
