Public benefits

The public benefits that flow from the purposes of Project Romania are:- (i) education opportunities for the beneficiaries aiding the reduction of unemployment; (ii) increased health and well-being leading to a better quality of life for the beneficiaries; (iii) increased awareness and knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to

enhance the spiritual well-being of the beneficiaries; (iii) the reduction of racial and ethnic barriers leading to an improved sense of community between the beneficiaries; and (iiii) the prevention and relief of poverty leading to a better quality of life for the beneficiaries. These public benefits are evidenced through yearly reviews and photo documentation.

What your organisation does

Project Romania aids the prevention/relief of poverty by:- (i) building and improving housing and wells; (ii) delivering aid including food parcels, Christmas gift shoe boxes, clothing and firewood logs; and (iii) providing funeral assistance. Project Romania aids the increased health and well-being of the beneficiaries by:- (i) hosting medical

clinics and central wash facilities; and (ii) hosting personal hygiene, life skills and family planning programmes. Project Romania aids education of the beneficiaries by supporting schools through the provision of educational resources (including bikes, tables, boards and stationery). Project Romania aids the increased knowledge and awareness of the gospel of Jesus Christ by:- (i) providing spiritual support in schools, churches and small house groups; (ii) conducting outreach programmes to individuals, families, communities, schools and church groups with the assistance of teams (10-12 teams each year); and (iii) taking RE lessons and assemblies in schools and churches/small house groups. In providing health care for the beneficiaries there is a risk of side effects from drugs/medical attention applied in certain circumstances. This possible harm however is outweighed by its possible benefit. There is no other harm which arises from the purposes/activities of Project Romania.

Charitable purposes

Project Romania’s objects (the “Objects”) are specifically restricted to the advancement of education, health and religion of the underprivileged (hereinafter called the “beneficiaries”) in Romania (and in such other territories as the directors may, from time to time, determine) (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin or political opinion by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, academic institutions and the beneficiaries in the area of benefit in a common effort through education, spiritual guidance and other activities to develop their health, well-being and knowledge of Jesus Christ so that their conditions of life may be improved, and ancillary to this: (a) to spread the love and power of Jesus Christ in order to make an impact on the lives of the beneficiaries; (b) to help those beneficiaries who are incapable of helping themselves; (c) to demonstrate the words of Jesus Christ that “it is more blessed to give than it is to receive”; (d) to bring hope to the hopeless; (e) to fulfil the commission of Jesus Christ; (f) to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, help the sick and support the weak and vulnerable; (g) to break down racial and ethnic barriers in order to demonstrate that God’s love in Jesus Christ transcends all barriers; (h) to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all age groups; and (i) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors may, from time to time, decide.
