The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: improved environment, health, community safety, local recreation and leisure facilities; and education, awareness, knowledge and appreciation of the local historical and cultural of the area; improved health and well-being outcomes, reduced levels of social isolation, stress and anxiety,

increased socializing, cooperation, good/community relations, networking, skills, and confidence which will improve circumstances and opportunities. This is demonstrated through feedback from attendees. The charity’s beneficiaries are primarily people of all ages and backgrounds living in the Killyman Ward and the surrounding area within Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough area of Mid Ulster District Council. Private benefit is incidental and necessary and there is no harm flowing from the purposes.

What your organisation does

Tamnamore Community Development Association meets every week to do arts and crafts activities, mix socially, and raise funds for the Association. The group Committee holds a meeting every month to plan events and avail of information, and to provide facilities to promote arts and crafts activities. The group socializes and meets with other similar

groups in the local area, and the local district and beyond to network and share information. Guest Speakers come to the group to educate, give talks and information sessions on arts, crafts, recreation, history, culture, and community safety, health and well-being related topics for the benefit of all the members. The Association runs local events for Older and Vulnerable People when funds are available.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Killyman Ward area of Dungannon and its surrounding rural environs (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") and to promote the protection and preservation of health without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: (a) To maintain and manage a centre for activities promoted by the association and for use by other charitable organisations that the Association supports or establishes within the area of benefit; (b) Raise awareness and encourage appreciation of and knowledge of the historical and cultural heritage among the general public in the area of benefit; (c) To reduce the fear of crime in the community and improve the safety and quality of the living environment for the benefit of the inhabitants in the area of benefit.
