Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from purpose are not just to produce Boxers, but to give people of the community the opportunity to reach their full potential in life. We hope by using Boxing as a medium to bring people in, we can offer them the chance of a better future through educational support leading to more self-confidence which in turn will
lead to more opportunities in life. We aim to help introduce them to a healthier lifestyle by giving them the chance to take part in Boxing or Fitness Classes and offering support on nutrition, running programmes on health issues such as mental health, drug and alcohol awareness or giving up smoking. The aim is to give young people positive role models and a belief in themselves, so that in the future they can become role models for the community and hopefully give back to the community. This wrap round approach, we hope will make a difference to, not just the individuals who take part, but the whole community, raising the aspirations of the whole area for the future. The public benefit is having a local facility that is very low cost in an area of high economic and social deprivation. We also provide a safe and neutral environment for people from all communities to come together both to train learn and break down barriers. These benefits are (will be) demonstrated through Coaches working with Boxers and Parents filling assessment forms on a monthly basis so everyone knows hoe Skills and personal development are coming along and training etc can be adjusted to ensure everyone is getting full benefit from the club. The purposes of our charity may lead to the following harm we can show that this harm is outweighed by the benefits through the use of Fully Qualified Coaches good Health and Safety procedures in place also the use of fully approved personal protection equipment such as Head Guards, Hand Wraps, Mouth Guards , Gloves , Groin Guards , Chest Guards and qualified first aiders all ways on site. The charity’s beneficiaries are anyone within the community who wishes to take part. The whole idea is to make it that anyone can afford to use the facility our policy is not to turn anyone away due to lack of finances. A family can use our facility for the price of one person in the local leisure centre. There is potential for private benefit flowing from this purpose in that volunteers can gain life skills which are transferable to other settings and may help them gain employment but this is incidental and necessary because volunteers are necessary to enable the club to operate. This is also part of the overall purpose in enabling those from an area of social need gain confidence and improve their life conditions.
