Public benefits

Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not

lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Seaview Primary school. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Seaview Primary school. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

The Seaview PTA is a way to bring together parents, teachers and our local community to raise money and to support the school. It provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal to ensure the school has additional resources to advance the education of the children it serves. Traditional Fundraising We support the school

by organising traditional fundraisers (Halloween Howl tuck shop, Christmas Ballot, May Fair, Easter Competitions, Valentines Activities and 2nd Hand uniform sale) for much needed resources for the children that attend the school. PTA organise fun additional activities for the children, Halloween howl (disco and fancy dress), a Santa Visit with present, The Year One Welcome party for parents and children with Mr Hullabaloo. We work in partnership with the Principal and teachers to see what resources are needed for each year, this gives us a target and we organise our Yearly calendar of activities/fundraisers accordingly. We have over the years purchased various different equipment i.e. iPads and docking station, Whiteboards, tables and chairs, washing machine for the nursery unit, blinds for the classrooms, Y7 leaving gifts (ensuring each child is rewarded with a memorable present) . Seaview Primary School is an inclusive school and PTA like to ensure all children are included with events according to their dietary and cultural beliefs. Our aim is to ensure we meet the needs of the school as best as we can. Volunteering PTA also funds projects and supports volunteering within the school i.e. Garden Project (to decorate the garden furniture), the Reading Partnership programme and by accompanying teachers on trips. Hospitality The PTA in Seaview provides a range of hospitality for a number of school and community events. External Fundraising The Seaview PTA engage in sourcing a number of avenues for external fundraising and have supported the Principal in a range of bids for external grants.
