Public benefits
Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead to
harm. The benefit is for children at St Michael's Primary school. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm.

St Michael’s PTA consists of Mums, Dads and Teachers. We all give time throughout the year to Fundraise, Support school events and Build a positive school community. Our fundraising efforts provide equipment and experiences which otherwise could not be provided from the school budget. We organise events for the children which can include the
Halloween disco and Christmas movie night. We organise events for the parents such as Quizzes, Spring Ball, Night at the races. And finally we organise family events such as a treasure hunt and Summer Social. We work in close consultation with the school to agree fundraising priorities for the year. We also support the school to run events and activities including Culture Day concert, Parent’s information evenings, Book Fair, Sports Day, First Communion Party for families and children, Year 7 leaver’s Mass and disco and the School Play. We produce a PTA Newsletter every term to keep parents informed of all our activities. We encourage parents to volunteer their time or skills in whatever way they feel they can. Communication is a key part of our work. All our activities are purposefully designed to foster a wider school community which we firmly believe enhances all pupils and parents experiences of St Michael’s Primary school. Ammendment Clause: No amendment shall be made which would have the effect of making the charity cease to be a charity at law. Dissolution Clause: In the event of dissolution, assets and funds shall be given or transferred to any charity or charities for purposes similar to those of St Michael’s PTA.
