Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the purpose to promote to facilitate for public benefit the promotion of arts, culture and heritage, in particular that of Ulster Scots culture and heritage in an open and positive manner to encourage mutual understanding is the knowledge gained about the region, its culture, its people and heritage and what
makes it unique in Northern Ireland. We organise events in the area from musical nights and soiree’s to festivals and lectures to benefit the public. We organise arts in this rural location and many of the beneficiaries do not travel so it’s their only interaction with the arts. These benefits are evidence through feedback from other community groups, participants, educational facilities, local council and government bodies. These benefits therefore advance culture, arts and heritage alongside the advancement of education and citizenship. There is no rise to any harm. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the running of our group. The direct benefits which flow from providing for public benefits the opportunity to engage with and visit members of other community and cultural groups in order to exchange views, share information and experiences and participate in cultural and leisure activities are advancing peoples understanding of the cultural benefits in exchanges. We also advance education for other community groups and our members and people in the East Antrim area by challenging views, perceptions and by sharing our culture and heritage further afield. We also reduce social isolation in this rural location and add citizenship in the area. The beneficiaries are people who wish to learn and understand the Ulster-Scots culture and heritage of the Cairncastle area within Northern Ireland and also the British Isles. These benefits are evidence through feedback from other community groups, participants, educational facilities, local council and government bodies.
