Purpose 1 The Organisation creates value for people who are currently homeless or at risk of homelessness and dis-connected from community and services. The Organisation: • builds networks that connect individuals who are diverse, sustaining generalised reciprocity. • builds a more diverse community through the delivery of services which
challenge social marginalisation and isolation Achievements and evaluation of this objective is collected through case management outcomes, outcome monitoring and client profiling. The Organisation supports 13,000+ individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness per annum offering a range of services to include advice, counselling and accommodation support services. Crisis Accommodation for females is offered through the Organisations Annsgate Accommodation project. Befriending is delivered through our Drop-in Centre which operates from 8am to 10pm daily 365 days per annum Purpose 2 and 3 As a social economy the Welcome Organisation • employs 40 staff and offers volunteering opportunities to 70+ individuals with ages ranging from 18-83 years, • aims to serve members or the community as a whole, instead of striving for financial profit alone • Offers volunteering opportunities within the organisation for service users prividing a catalyst for training and basic education • is based on principles such as: solidarity and caring for human resources, environmental improvement, individual and collective responsibility and accountability for outcomes The Organisation fully monitors contribution to building social capital through the delivery of a range of person centred services based on not for profit principles re-investing in client any financial surpluses in non-restricted funds in client welfare programmes. Purpose 4 The Organisation implements positive behavioural changes which enhance health and wellbeing The service contributes to • fulfilment of individual persons / human aspirations by working with marginalised individuals providing holistic interventions that help them to develop the skills and knowledge to improve their own wellbeing, and to become resilient in the face of difficulties The Welcome Organisation provides a range of support services to people who are homeless or vulnerable and at risk of homelessness.

Formed 20 years ago, The Welcome Organisation provides a range of support services to people who are homeless or vulnerable and at risk of homelessness. Services include a Drop-in Centre, Day and Night Street Outreach service, Floating Support and a Crisis accommodation for vulnerable females. Drop-in Centre (8.00 am – 10 pm daily) Our Drop-In
Centre at 36 Townsend Street, Belfast, is open from 8am-10pm, 365 days of the year. It acts as the ‘hub’ for all of our services and is also our administration base. From here we offer the following: • Access to health care through the provision of 2 clinics per week and immediate access to peripatetic nursing care • Referral agency to accommodation, mental health, drug and alcohol services • Drug and alcohol clinics weekly • Needle exchange • Weekly housing clinic • Life skills / client volunteer programme • Basic literacy and numeracy assistance • Multi-disciplinary case management • Advocacy / Support to include court, benefits, statutory appeals etc. • Therapeutic interventions to include outdoor pursuits and ‘Street Gems’ – a creative and meaningful engagement programme • Emergency access point to other accommodation programmes • Mental health worker. We accept referrals from other agencies but this service is open to anyone over 18 who is homeless or at risk of homelessness. Day street outreach (8.00 am – 10pm daily) & Night time street outreach (10pm – 1.00 am nightly) Our outreach service provides on-street contact and floating support, linking daily with many of the city’s most vulnerable people, particularly street drinkers and rough sleepers. Crisis accommodation for females with challenging behaviours: (9.00 pm – 8.00 am nightly) Crisis service for females, most of whom have exhausted all other support accommodation options. This group currently accesses support services through our drop-in facility.
