Whilst a public benefit statement has been provided the Commission has relied on other evidence to satisfy itself that the public benefit requirement has been met. The Northern Ireland Sea Cadet Federation meets the requirement of public benefit by providing direct support to the 11 Sea Cadet Units currently based in Northern Ireland promoting the
purpose.

We do this by, Street Collections, Bag Packs at Supermarkets, Promotional Days at events such as Armed Forces Day, Sea Bangor and the Tall Ships Belfast. Financial Grants to cadets from disadvantaged backgrounds to go offshore on MSSC offshore vessels, provide grants to cadets from disadvantaged backgrounds to go on foreign exchanges to places
such as the US, Sweden, Japan, Russia. Provide grants to Sea Cadet units on application for assistance with building works programs.
