Public benefits

Tiddli-winks Playgroup provides play based pre-school education for children in the Ballyholme area of Bangor in Co. Down. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include enhanced learning outcomes for the children attending, also opportunities for social skills to be improved and provide a safe environment to develop emotional well-being.

Other benefits include strong connections with parents and care givers and close links with the local area. Close links with the local primary school, which most of the children attending Tiddli-winks will move on to in the P1 year, also provide good durable connections that build a close community in our area. We provide a safe and stimulating environment which allows children from all backgrounds to become individuals and successful learners. These benefits can be measured by the high number of returning families and regular feedback from parents, inspections by Social Services and the Education and Training Inspectorate. The purpose of the playgroup is beneficial to both the children and their families. There are no private benefits to persons connected with the playgroup. In the case of the playgroup, the salaries paid to our four members of staff are necessary for maintaining the purposes and benefits.

What your organisation does
