Public benefits

Friends in Action International NI has since its inception been a ministry of assistance to missionary organisations that are of like faith and doctrine and has in most instances worked through work-teams that come in to assist with well drilling projects and then leave when the project is complete. God has blessed us so that we have been able to

assist with funding of the projects and provide financial support and equipment for the well drilling project. Friends in Action International NI has been involved in a well drilling ministry in Burkina Faso, West Africa since 2004 and have since that time been drilling wells on behalf of mission groups such as Serving In Mission and Tear Fund. Friends in Action International NI is clear that we are responsible for oversight of the well drilling ministry in Burkina Faso. Volunteers support full time highly trained well drilling operators. A full risk assessment process is followed and all team members and equipment are insured by a robust insurance package. Volunteers are required to undergo training before being authorised by the group to travel to Burkina Faso to serve on well drilling teams. All volunteers will be under the constant supervision of drilling experts whilst drilling and outside of drilling time. Serving in Mission organisation report the number of wells that Friends in Action International NI have drilled for them as a part of their annual return. The Friends in Action group is able to produce comprehensive records of all well drilling undertaken since its formation. Groups such as Serving In Mission determine the location for wells and normally wells are located to support a new church plant and this is part of our desire to reach the un-reached. A large number of wells have been drilled to support school buildings and so in this way enabling the advancement of education by ensuring there is fresh water for students and teachers. It is common for a child to die before the age of 5 years and for this reason children do not receive a name until they are around 5 years old. Most people in Burkina Faso suffer from Diarrhoea or other intestinal diseases brought on by drinking dirty infected water. Most take water from open wells from which animals drink from and urinate into. The charity seeks to provide villages with safe drinking water from wells drilled hundreds of feet into the ground and so by the provision of fresh water relieves hardship and distress. The general health of the people is improving in this the 3rd poorest country in the world and the provision of clean water has been a major factor in this improvement. Friends in Action International NI continues to seek to serve God by bringing a cup of clean water to needy men and woman.
