Public benefits

To support the street children in need with financial assistance, for the prevention or relief of poverty, for the protection and preservation of their health. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes seeking and raising funds to bring aid and relief, for items such as food, essential resources and to provide a means to education to

reach out to the Shashemene street children in Ethopia. This is demonstrated through the funds raised through the sales of donations, fundraising, financial donations and gift aid and through having active volunteers who travel to Ethiopia to distribute aid and relieve to those in need using the funds raised. The public benefit is to provide relief to the street children in need, relieve poverty and to lead to an improvement in health and education which is achieved through the financial support to support the EFC school and buy essential items, food, books, toys. The benefits are demonstrated through the results achieved, which ultimately leads to an improvement in their health, education and well-being and relieves poverty within this deprived area. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for the street children of Shashemene, there is no private benefit.

What your organisation does

In Shashemene, Ethopia there are numerous homeless children. They are homeless because they have run away from home, death of parents, the neglect or inability of their families to take care of them. Whatever the reason they live and congregate near the two bridge areas of the town. The children are from dysfunctional families, some of whom

struggle, having to beg for food and shelter. They also have no access to education, which is their gateway to improve their lives. The money raised from Bridge Orphans has been used to purchase land and build the EFC School, also clothe, feed and support the children. The school has 12 classrooms and 17 staff, which includes teachers, classroom assistants, security. The school enrols the bridge kids and provides them with a basic education. The school also offers a first aid service and every Saturday there is also free English language training.

Bridge Orphans is established to support by means of financial assistance any charitable project for the protection and preservation of health, relief of poverty amongst street children in Shashemene, Ethopia: In particular to promote the awareness among the general public of the work undertaken by the Charity within the area of benefit. the recruitment, selection and sending out of volunteers for short term service within the area of benefit.
