Public benefits
The Trust meets the public benefit requirement in the following ways: Through the advancement of arts, culture and heritage. The Drama Circle Theatre Trust provides assistance to individuals in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland who wish to further an interest in different aspects of theatre including; Directing, Acting, Writing, Design
and Technical including but not limited to lighting design, stage management, sound management and stage design. Individuals apply to the Trust for funding providing information on what the funding will be used for and why the Trust should support them. The Trust will then compile a short-list of applicants who will then be required to attend an interview. The Trustees will then consider the application and make a decision on whether funding should be granted and the amount of the funding. The direct benefits include the promotion and encouragement of high standards the performing arts and theatre in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland enabling individuals, who may not have the opportunity without the assistance of the Trust, to further their interest and develop their talents. In so doing the Trust encourages greater awareness and understanding of the benefit and role of the arts and in particular theatre in society. The benefits are demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries, being those individuals who receive funding from the Trust, and regular review and evaluation of the funding provided. This purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those individuals who receive funding from the Trust. This in turn has a wider benefit to society, promoting the arts, and in particular theatre, and encouraging greater awareness and understanding of its benefit and role in society. There is no private benefit.
