The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include opportunities for all children to participate in learning-focused play on a regular basis. Can you demonstrate this? This benefit is demonstrated in enrolment/registration records and attendance records. Is any harm or possibility of harm outweighed by the benefit? The risk of harm to children is determined in recorded risk assessments, integrated fully by health and safety procedures and staff training/registration. The benefit outweighs the risk. Who is the benefit for? The beneficiaries are children and parents living in Broughshane and the Braid Valley and attending the Centre of Early Learning. Is there any private benefit? Is it incidental or necessary? A private benefit may arise for staff receiving ongoing training and potentially qualifications in child care. These benefits may be transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the above benefit is obtained by the intended recipients. Purpose 2: To enhance the development and education of young children by encouraging parent/guardians to understand and provide for the needs of their children by; encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of the needs of such children and their families in the local area. What benefit flows from this purpose? The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved preparation for primary education and improved parent-child relationships. Can you demonstrate this? This benefit is demonstrated in each child’s progress in behaviour and attitude towards learning-focused play including interaction with other children, and in anecdotal feedback from parents. Is any harm or possibility of harm outweighed by the benefit? There is no risk of harm from this purpose. Who is the benefit for? The beneficiaries are the children and parents of children attending the Centre of Early Learning. Is there any private benefit? Is it incidental or necessary? A private benefit may arise from staff receiving ongoing training and potentially, qualifications in child care. These benefits may be transferable to other setting. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the above benefit is obtained by the intended recipients.
