Public benefits

Our main aims are to provide social and recreational activities for older people which will decrease the isolation felt by older people in Rathcoole and Newtownabbey. We organise physical activities to keep older people as active as possible such as swimming lessons, dancing classes, aqua aerobics and arm chair exercises. We also arrange community

classes and workshops to increase skill and knowledge such as horticulture, history and textiles. We also organise outings and events. We participate in wider community development initiatives which include lobbying for additional services which will enhance the lives of older people. This is demonstrated by feedback from participants and beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are people aged 50 and over in Rathcoole. There is no harm or private benefit flowing from the purposes.
