HOPE aims to improve the physical and mental well being of 9-16 year olds. We have over 100 volunteers in the programme. We encourage healthy living and our campers plus volunteers take part in Gaelic, Soccer, Rugby, Cricket, Cooking, Drama, Art, swimming, surfing and take day trips to Carrowmena and Foyle Hover. We attract 300 local children each
year, we have to limit the enrolment due to our popularity. Pupils come from all faiths and none and we attract children from every school in Limavady. The same is true of our volunteers. This year we hired Coastal Core to train them in First Aid and Child protection. Our programme this year is Mon World Cup or Art later it is football/Drama/water slides/team building/darts/golf/Orienteering (same each afternoon) Tues Olympics/Cardio Dance and afternoon activities as above Wed Carrowmena/Surfing at Benone/Foyle Hovecraft Thurs World Series (Cricket/Rugby/Hockey/Basketbal) or Baking Fri All Ireland Fun at the pool Saturday Talent Show Sun Free Community Fun Day We aim to reach out to all ages and all communities. We also aim to upskill our 100 plus volunteers. They will learn new skills and hopefully take up further volunteering. For our young volunteers we hope to give them an insight into working with young children. All volunteers are briefed on child protection and safeguarding. We are the largest voluntary group in the area by a distance.
