SACAG works closely with St Andrew's Church Glencairn to engage with the community in order to address areas of social inequality and disadvantage and spiritual alienation. The group has been a catalyst for community consensus and engagement in an area which has historically been alienated from government, church and political processes. Currently
the group employs a family support Worker who assists the minister of St Andrew's with children's work and is a bridge between the church, community and school, providing play and social opportunities for isolated parents and their children and outreach to families within the estate. SACAG will continue to seek funding and support to develop projects which will add value to activities of existing local representatives, social and religious bodies and all those engaged in activity aimed at enhancing the life experiences and opportunities of residents of Glencairn and its environs. SACAG is an outward focused group whose ethos is one of strong public service and investment with a vision for a positive and enriched future for Glencairn and its environs as previously outlined.
