Public benefits

The committee of Nippers Alley Playgroup believe that our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. The direct benefits which flow from purpose one include offering play facilities which are safe, age and stage appropriate and inclusive to all children and families in the community regardless of differences . These benefits

are evidenced through our growing number of families and children attending and using the facilities of Nippers Alley as well as the positive feedback which we have received by parents/carers through our use of questionnaires; suggestions box and parent meetings. There benefits are also evaluated and monitored by the Western health trust and Department of Education. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the families and children living in our community who require access to play facilities from 0-4 years old. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. The direct benefits which flow from purpose two include having early year’s practitioners who are competently trained and qualified to offer children and families in the local area the best possible early years care and education regardless of their background. This will encourage families to become involved in their children’s early years education by getting involved with Nippers Alley committee; fundraising; attending parent and toddler group; attending training events and parent workshops. This is evidenced by staff attending relevant training courses; updating qualifications and offering such courses to families in the local community and thus being able to meet the needs of all children and families in the setting. This can also be evidenced by the various agencies who are involved with our setting such as our Early year’s specialist; our assigned social worker and inspectors for the department of education. This purpose does not lead to harm. There is no private benefit flowing from purpose two. The direct benefits which flow from purpose three include working with other early years groups and with early years the organisation to continuously update our knowledge; experience and share these to provide early years support, care and education to families and children in the Loughmacrory community. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from all groups and our ability to put into practice the knowledge and experience that we gain from instigating and adhering to Early Years the organisation and putting it into practice at Nippers Alley. This purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Loughmacrory who have a child attending Nippers Alley or will have a child attend Nippers Alley in the future. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose

What your organisation does

We are a community based organisation: firstly we operate a pre-school education service in the morning time; we then also offer a 2+programme in the afternoon (as we are not located in a surestart area; therefore lots of children in this area are not gaining early access to social and play skills programmes); we run a parent and toddler group one

day per week and a pre-school summer scheme in july and august.
