Public benefits

The provision of Play based education for Children under statutory school age in the Lurgan/Craigavon area, and its surrounding townlands. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include: improved learning outcomes for the children attending, plus opportunities for social integration and emotional wellbeing. Other benefits include strong

connections with parents / carers of the children attending the playgroup, and links to the wider community activity in the area. These benefits can be observed by feedback received from parents, detailed observations carried out by staff daily and by the inspections process carried out by the Department for Education and Social Services. The purpose of the playgroup is beneficial to both children and their families and there is no possibility of harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the children who attend this playgroup, and their parents/carers. There are no private benefits to persons connected with the playgroup. Any training provided to committee members e.g in Financial procedures, Committee skills, Child Protection, First Aid etc is necessary to ensure the high standards of governance for the Playgroup.
