Public benefits
Trojans YCG aims to benefit the public in the activities they carry out. Football is one of the most popular sports in the world and soccer is great for fitness and cardiovascular health. Soccer can also be a great sport for kids who may not have high levels of athletic ability, but who would like to participate in team sports. Soccer is ideal
for boys, girls, men and women, who play the same game under the same rules and where physically appropriate may play alongside each other. According to better health channel there are several health benefits to playing football that extends to all age groups. These include general health benefits, promotes team work. Livestrong.com found “Soccer develops agility, speed and stamina, and also teaches children the importance of teamwork, so it can play an important part in your child’s physical and social development. Many communities offer soccer leagues for a variety of ages and skill levels. Choose a soccer league that matches your child’s needs. If you are unsure which league is best, talk to some team coaches to see if they are a good match for your child?” Trojans Parents have indicated that playing with the club has benefited their child’s behavior and general interest in health and exercise. We offer a clear pathway through the club from-adult allowing adults to train as coaches. This allows the further education of the individual and a way to expand their knowledge. Studies have shown that further education has helped people keep active and give something back to the community. Over the past 10 years our numbers have increased from 90 to 200+ members. Our under age groups which is age 5+ have increased by 20% indicating to us that kids football has it benefits in the community. We also have had 90% of our members going right through the club from age 5 to now being a coach. This encourages us that the benefit of training in soccer outweighs the any possible harm. Our coaches and volunteers have accessed the possible harm as being small personal injury to the individual in the process of sport itself. During interaction with parents our coaches have found that they appreciate the training and found that an interest such as football has benefited their children’s health and wellbeing. As well as giving them a focus. Therefore our club benefits both members and their families. Any money raised through fundraising goes directly back into the youth. For equipment, transport, trips, match costs and pitch rental costs. The trustees are satisfied that there is no private benefit within the club.
