Public benefits

Purpose 1 To support the advancement of religion to the people living in Kenya and its environs in Africa Purpose 2 To support the relief of poverty for the people living in Kenya and its environs in Africa Purpose3 To advance education for the people living in Kenya and its environs in Africa The trustees believe that all three purposes satisfy

both elements of the public benefit requirement. Purpose one The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are that pastors and potential leaders in the churches in Kenya and its environs in Africa are better equipped through theological and spiritual training, working in conjunction with the Christian Theological Institutions in Africa to meet the spiritual needs of the people. They are also helped in practical ways by providing bicycles for them to get from place to place. People’s lives are changed for the better when they are at peace with God and each other. They have a new purpose and joy in life and live happier and more productive lives. This is evidenced by the number of people whom the new pastors have helped, and who continue to attend their services. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the people living in Kenya and its environs in Africa. Purpose two The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are that our beneficiaries will have the basics in which to have a better life. We financially assist orphanages, hospitals and clinics. Undernourished children are given wholesome food, orphaned and homeless children are accommodated and clothing is provided for destitute children and those in need. This will be evidenced by the number of people helped who are living in poverty. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the people living in Kenya and its environs in Africa. Purpose three The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include children and young people being educated, preparing them to find employment, trade or start a business to support themselves and their families in the future. We assist schools financially, and in practical ways by providing educational material and equipment. Education and employment in turn also leads to better health and a reduction in poverty and crime in the area. The benefits are a better quality of life for the people living in Kenya and its environs in Africa. This would be evidenced by the number of children attending the schools. There is no risk of harm with any of our purposes.

What your organisation does

Information letters and two or three public Rallies annually are used to promote awareness in Northern Ireland. Meetings in churches and church halls, and presentations in schools also create awareness. Through this awareness donations are made to our charity which enables us to provide Financial Assistance for all of our purposes. Our charity

has built a Theological College in Kapenguria, in conjunction with the Africa Gospel Church. It has also built a school with approximately 14 to 16 rooms, with a new three storey extension on the outskirts of Nairobi. A new school class room has also been built in the town of Nuu in the Ukanbane District. We offer educational programmes for preschool children, kindergarten and primary school children in good school facilities with qualified teachers. School fees are provided in part or in full for those who can prove they do not have the money to pay for them. In addition to financial support much needed supplies for schools, hospitals, orphanages and churches have been donated free of charge by people and organisations in Northern Ireland. These supplies have been shipped to Kenya and distributed under the supervision and instruction of our Executive Directors who work in Africa for approximately five months every year. Educational provisions supplied by us include educational libraries and equipment, IT computer suites including desks, chairs, tables and cupboards. Hospital beds etc for hospitals, chairs etc for the churches and clothes for needy people are other examples of practical donations made by people in Northern Ireland. To date 16 x 40ft containers filled with humanitarian aid have been shipped to Kenya to help the needy.
