Public benefits

Your public benefits are: Purpose 1 To advance the gospel of Jesus Christ among the general public, in accordance with biblical principles and practice both in the UK and abroad. Crescent Church Belfast seeks to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ among the general public resulting in personal faith in Him and in lives lived in a law-abiding,

moral and godly manner. We seek to do this by organising public worship services and a range activities for children, young people and adults and older people where we seek to meet their spiritual, physical, emotional and pastoral needs within a church or mission context. The trustees gain personally from the charity, but only in the same way that any other member of the public may. In addition one trustee is employed as the Crescent Church Operations Manager in pursuit of this object. The trustee who is employed by the charity facilitates the administration of the Church office, and the practical management of the day to day activities of the Church including the management of the facilities. The trustee who is employed by the Charity is excluded from the both the decision making processes that awards and reviews his continued employment and remuneration. Purpose 2 To prevent or relieve poverty among those in hardship both in the UK and abroad. Crescent Church Belfast seeks to prevent or relieve poverty among the general public where hardship can be demonstrated. This is done by means of financial or other material support and is evidenced through correspondence from the beneficiaries, visits to the beneficiaries by either church members or those known to the church. Support is both sent abroad to developing countries and allocated within Northern Ireland. Possible harm, may be in developing a reliance among individuals to depend on external support. However, this is mitigated by relying on experienced contacts to allocate specific gifts. There is no private benefit. * Purpose 3 To relieve those in need due to their adverse circumstances in the UK and abroad We aim to give support to projects or organisations, which seek to care for children or disadvantaged adults, or bring relief to those caught up in a refugee situation or natural disaster. These benefits are evidenced by reports from those organisations in receipt of financial support, or visits by church members or those known to the church. There is no private benefit. * Purpose 4 We seek to advance education among those who are unable to avail of education due to their adverse circumstances. We seek to do this by supporting education projects in developing countries with either one off or regular financial support, in order that they may benefit from broader opportunities and so improve their personal circumstances. These benefits are evidenced by reports from those organisations in receipt of support, or visits by church members or those known to the church. There is no private benefit
