Purpose 1 Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Greater Linenhall Area. People in the Greater Linenhall Area receive many benefits through the work of the Greater Linenhall Area Community Association, these include, but are not restricted to the following: Better life opportunities. Opportunities to advance or continue

education. Opportunities to engage in more active lifestyles through the provision of health related programmes and activities leading to improvements in both physical and mental well-being. Opportunities for stronger bonds to develop between people, where friendly relations build trust and a mutual support network and prevent or reduce social isolation. Opportunities for people to increase skills base / capacity. Developing people’s confidence and self-esteem to try something new. Building community knowledge. These benefits will be demonstrated by: o Detailed Log Book maintained in the Community House. o Quarterly Activity Reports submitted to Council and DSD. o Annual Reports o Returns to funders / End of Grant Reports o Achievements / milestones reached by people in the community. o A combination of the above may also bring improvements in people’s employability, physical & mental health/well-being; it may also raise individual aspirations as well as reducing anti-social behaviour, improving community safety and creating less dependence on the State. This Purpose does not give rise to any harm. The benefit is intended primarily for the people living in the Greater Linenhall Area which is a designated Neighbourhood Renewal Area with high levels of multiple deprivation. There is no private benefit intended, however, some private benefit may arise to trustees because they may get to learn about various ‘opportunities’ before the rest of the community and may get access to good governance training and gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are all incidental and necessary. Purpose 2 Maintain and manage a Community House in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the Greater Linenhall Area Community Association. The direct benefits which flow from Purpose 2 includes the provision of an accessible Community House in the area of benefit to facilitate a range of services, activities (social & leisure) & opportunities for local people; it also Provides an affordable place for people to meet Enables people to find out what’s going on and provides opportunities for the community to come together to participate and contribute to a vibrant community life. Brings diverse groups together including different ethnicities and age groups. These benefits will be demonstrated through: Log Book maintained in Community House with details of all users of the facility. Summer Schemes will have registration and consent forms for each person kept on file. Training courses will have registration, attendance sheets and evaluation forms for each course kept on file.
