Public benefits

The benefit that flow from the purpose of urban regeneration are, i. The creation of social capital to create opportunities for residents living in economically deprived areas and consequently a reduction in hardship due to the creation of networks due to community engagement in community activity. Our service includes running fitness programmes

woman’s programmes, men’s programmes, to address issues of around health, social isolation and poverty, making the programmes affordable and accessible for the population of the area of Tullyally targeted individuals whom are directly affected by poverty and low income. ii. The engagement of statutory agencies to support delivery of services in the area, by engaging in clinics, meetings and community consultation. iii. The provision of space and funding for early intervention initiatives as well as homework clubs in order to enhance educational experiences, the provision of careers advice from related professionals. iv. The provision of social engagement in many different ways, through fitness classes, Dance Parents groups, Toddlers groups, Arts and crafts classes and early intervention initiatives in order to support social interaction and engagement in community based activity and therefore addressing social deprivation. Individuals are supported by delivering these programmes which directly impact the people who live in the Tullyally area. These benefits can be evidenced in records kept by the community organisation and The Department of Social Development. Evidence includes User questionnaires and records of centre users. Private benefit is obtained by the centre users who avail of community services at a reduced rate. The reduced rate for services is greatly outweighed by the public benefit and no harm arises from these purposes.
