Public benefits

PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT PURPOSE To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Tullycarnet and its environs (hereinafter described as “the area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the local and statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort

to advance education, health, youth and community development and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the objectives of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants The trustees believe that the purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the rise of educational attainment, improvement in health and reduction of social isolation. These benefits are demonstrated through the number of people completing qualifications, increased passes in exam results, improvements in Health and the rise in attendance at activities in local centres. There is no harm from this benefit. The charity’s beneficiaries live in Tullycarnet. A private benefit to trustees may arise from their participation in activities. The trustees may lack educational qualifications, need an improvement to their health or be isolated and will be assigned a place on the activity in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to beneficiaries.
