Public benefits

The purpose’s: • Advance health by engaging in health prevention programmes and capacity building, improving self-management skills and providing health development information. • Advance education and training and raise awareness of health issues. • Relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability or other disadvantage.

• Promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined. The direct benefits which flow from these purpose’s include: • Improved health outcomes. • Community capacity building. • Access to health prevention programmes for all sections of the community. • Flexibility to respond to emerging health concerns. The benefits will be demonstrated through: • Feedback from a range of programmes participants using the Outcome Star Evaluation Tool measuring programme impact • Supervision and support sessions with programme facilitators • Monitoring attendance levels These purpose’s do not lead to harm. The charities beneficiaries are inhabitants of North Belfast (the area of benefit) but in particular the New Lodge and Duncairn areas, without the distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity or political, religious and other opinion. There are private benefits arising for trustees and health facilitators from our ongoing training programmes on good governance and capacity building. Through these training programmes participants will gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure that benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

Health Programmes a) Men’s Health b) Women’s Health c) Older Peoples Physical activity programme d) Mental Health Awareness e) Stress management clinics-volunteer led 3. Nutrition & Physical Activity Programmes a) Cook it! b) Weigh to Health c) Pilates

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following:- To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of North Belfast ( the “area of benefit”), but in particular the New Lodge and Duncairn areas, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: (a) advance health by engaging in health prevention programmes and capacity building, improving self-management skills and providing health development information; (b) advance education and training and raise awareness of health issues; (c) relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability or other disadvantage; (d) promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
