Public benefits
1. Public benefit. Aldergrove House of Prayer was set up to advance Christianity within Northern Ireland. As a non denominational church, we serve all sections of the community in Northern Ireland, providing a place of worship and meeting. We also provide living accommodation to help ladies in distress, to help them through the difficult time in
their lives. This allows the ladies a safe environment to aid them in their recovery. We also refer them to professional counsellors to help them deal with their emotions and fears. Although the accommodation is primarily set up to house ladies, we also offer help to males as well in the form of Pastoral care. Our organisation intends to help the public as a whole, but the accommodation area is only offered to ladies. All counselling is carried out by professional counsellors. Where the person is suffering or hurting due to abuse, mental or Physical violence, we offer them pastoral care and support to aid them through their difficult time. We work with all parties to try and achieve a safe reconciliation were this is possible, and refer them to counsellors. Where there is substance abuse, our aim is to get them the help that they would require through other professional bodies, and provide them with a safe place away from influences that could hinder their recovery. Although our primary area is Northern Ireland, if it is possible and there is space available, we also extend our help to the United Kingdom as a whole, and also to Ireland. The purpose of the charity is to help the general public as a whole by examining ways in which we can offer them help. Medication is only allowed to be taken when prescribed by the persons Dr / GP and is supervised to make sure correct dosage and times are adhered too.

1. The church is also very involved with going out to help people in their own homes, regardless of ethnic background or religious preference. We look for practical ways in which to help people who cannot afford to pay for services such as gardening, laundering, or poverty. We also help in making repairs to their properties. 2. The church brings
food parcels, and where there is a need for Electricity, we pay for electric, heating etc where needed. All our funds are raised through the generous givings of the congregation who meet at Aldergrove House of Prayer. 3. The church also sponsors children in foreign nations to aid them through schooling and provide food for them.
