The Irish Grouse Conservation Trust meets the public benefit in the following ways: 1. The advancement of education by conducting research into the ecology and biology of game and their environmental requirements and publishing the results of such research to advance the education of the public in game biology and in the conservation of game. The

direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased knowledge and understanding of best practice in the conservation and study of game, their habitats and the other several species associated with these habitats. The benefits are demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries and regular evaluation of the services provided by the Trust. This purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those persons who are involved with the Trust and avail of the services it provides. This benefit to individuals in turn has a wider benefit to society. There is no private benefit. 2. The advancement of environmental protection or improvement by conducting research into the ecology and biology of game and their environmental requirements and publishing the results of such research to advance the education of the public in game biology and in the conservation of game. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those persons who are involved with the Trust and avail of the services it provides. This benefit to individuals in turn has a wider benefit to society. There is no private benefit.

The Trust promotes the conservation and study of game, of grouse in particular, their habitats and other several species associated with those habitats for the benefit of the public in Northern Ireland and will conduct research and publish the useful results of such research and advance the education of the public in game biology and the

conservation of game and to provide information and advice on such matters.

Charitable purposes

The Objects of the Trust are as follows: For the public benefit, in the northern part of the island of Ireland: to promote best practice in the conservation and study of game, their habitats and the other several species associated with these habitats; to advance environmental protection and improvement; to improve biodiversity; to conduct research into the ecology and biology of game and their environmental requirements and to publish the useful results of such research; to advance the education of the public in game biology and in the conservation of game (especially, but not exclusively, in the conservation of game as a sustainable resource); and to provide information and advice on matters relating to the foregoing.
