Public benefits

In relation to public benefit and in furtherance of its purposes the Society: Promotes and encourages high standards in the arts including music, dance and drama by providing training and lifelong learning opportunities and fulfilment for members of the Society of all ages in the fields of music, dance and drama. The Society members enhance their

skills in these fields by the production and staging of musical drama and dance for the entertainment and benefit of the general public and in the Lisnagarvey and surrounding areas. These activities benefit the sustainability and wellness of the general public by ensuring the development and maintenance of theatrical skills which provides the foundation for the presence of a healthy cultural environment. The activities provide access for the general public and particularly in the Lisnagarvey and surrounding area to the benefits which accrue from existence of a vibrant local arts and cultural experience. The performance of musical drama which produces income is used to promote the production and staging of performances by young people in the age group 11-18 on a cross-community basis and which is open to all abilities and serves to promote self-confidence, mutual respect, tolerance and understanding which better equips young people, through the extensive training provided, to play a constructive, peaceful and positive role in society for public benefit. The benefit is demonstrated through the consistently high audience levels at our main shows and charity concerts and clearly demonstrates an appreciation of the arts. So far as we are aware no harm comes from the Society carrying out our purposes. The beneficiaries of our purposes are our members and audiences of our shows and concerts. There is no private benefit from our purposes.
