Spamount & District Cross Community Association meets the public benefit requirement through its purposes as follows; - To advance education:- the direct benefit that flows from this purpose includes linking in with other organisations and groups to provide educational activities and programmes, information and awareness sessions which
participants would not otherwise have the opportunity to take part in. We have benefitted from links with south west college which enable our group to provide essential skills training within our community. - To Provide or Assist in Providing Facilities in the Interest in Social Welfare for Health Recreation Leisure Time Occupation The public benefits which flow from this purpose do so through the provision of a wide range of projects of activities which benefit all those that participate and the wider community including ; opportunities to participate in activities which enhances the quality of life, reduces social isolation, increases skills, confidence and self-esteem and encourages active citizenship and community participation. Benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and attendance at events and activities. Those who participate in our projects directly benefit through this engagement. The wider community of Spamount & District also benefit as a result of information published in newsletters, local advertising and on our face book page. Spamount & District is also represented on Strabane rural inter agency where issues affecting the local community are raised and addressed by the relevant agency e.g.: Housing Issues, Environmental Issues etc. The Community Association promotes equality of opportunity without distinction of age, gender, race, political religious or other opinion.

Spamount & District Cross Community Association organises arrange of social educational recreation and environmental programmes and activities. Examples of these include; • Holding a programme of events throughout the year e.g. Boot camp, Drama workshops, Cross community schools Samba workshop • Organising local fund raising
activities. • Representing the area at inter-agency meetings. • Linking in with voluntary and statuary organisations to avail of and to promote opportunities for our community. • Supporting other local groups, e.g. joint partnership with Border Arts in provision of workshops, support of local soccer team. • Working with NIHE to transform a piece of waste ground and area of anti-social activity into a community garden.
