The direct benefit which flows from this purpose includes promotion of the protection of conservation of the local environment leading to sustainable development, improved community development and civic values. 2. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose includes promotion of individual health and well being, community development and

local regeneration which increases employment opportunities, alleviates stress and improves the quality of family life. 3. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose includes the promotion of understanding, knowledge, accessibility, appreciation and enjoyment of local environmental matters improving the sustainability of the environment in Northern Ireland as a whole and particularly in the Colin Glen area. Benefits are evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries, funders and particularly the local community in the Colin Glen area. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland and primarily those living in the Colin Glen area. There is no private benefit to trustees. Incidental private benefits to trustees may arise from a programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These skills are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to the beneficiaries.

Charitable purposes

The Objects for which the Company is established are firstly to promote the conservation protection and improvement of the natural environment in the area adjacent to Colin Glen area of Belfast and elsewhere in Northern Ireland (hereinafter called “the area”) and secondly to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the condition of life of inhabitants of the areas and thirdly to advance education and awareness of environmental matters for the public in general and specifically for those in the areas.
