Public Benefit The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are relief of stress and increased health and wellbeing through the facilitation of access to help in the solution of problems from Company staff, Northern Ireland Housing Executive Officers, Advice Workers and the Community Safety Partnership, Taughmonagh’s residents increased

awareness of the value of education to themselves and their children and the opportunity to explore new ideas, improve parenting and employability and acquire new skills through the advancement of education, increased health, wellbeing and confidence through the development of recreational and leisure activities and capacity building through encouragement to volunteer. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from local residents, by statistics gathered for Progress Reports to Funders, Taughmonagh Community Forum’s Annual Report, attendance records for events, training sessions, clubs and group meetings and records of people helped kept by the Advice Worker and Housing Executive Officer and those who drop in for assistance from the Forum Centre Manager. Possibility of Harm There is no possibility of Harm arising from the purpose of our organisation. Who is the benefit for The Charity’s intended beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Taughmonagh estate and their families. Private Benefits There are no private benefits arising from the purpose of our organisation.

What your organisation does

The organisation hosts a qualified advice worker, a Northern Ireland Housing Executive sub office, a part time Health worker and a Community Safety Partnership which includes representatives form the PSNI, NIHE, the Belfast City Council and FASA. It organises Senior Citizens activities, addresses local housing issues and provides interaction

between business and the local community, runs education programmes, supports the local youth and social clubs and operates a community resource centre which provides general information to residents and provides facilities to Sure Start to enable them to offer a crèche and playgroup which aims to make childcare affordable and give parents the opportunity to look for work, and also runs a young women's programme and a woman's group. The organisation has strong partnerships with the Benmore and Annadale communites and has cross community/border links with Manorhamilton and Co. Monaghan through Peace 111 partnerships.

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Company are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Taughmonagh without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
