reduced level of social isolation and breaking down of barriers to employment, enhancing people’s employability skills and empowering them to more actively pursue employment - in essence this purpose addresses some of the root causes of poverty thereby reducing the impact of poverty. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants (trainees and students), through qualification and education certificates granted to individuals by awarding bodies, through contract monitoring carried out by prime contractors and education / employment government departments, and through employers reporting progress on work placements and those who have succeeded in obtaining permanent work positions as a result of their engagement with The Churches’ Training Company Limited. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in the Derry City and Strabane District Council areas, but can also include people in other parts of Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is the salaries paid to staff. However, this benefit is necessary to co-ordinate and deliver the education programmes and ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
