Public benefits

The benefits that flow from our purpose include the improved physical, mental and spiritual health of both serving and retired Police Officers and Police Staff who face a highly stressful working environment with continued need for support post retirement. These benefits are evidenced through our contact with members and supporters who seek our

assistance via various methods including post, Email, Facebook and telephone. Evidence that our beneficiaries further benefit from our purpose is indicated through their attendance at the formal meetings and support mechanisms that we provide for them. The contact between the organisation and our beneficiaries plus the numbers of individuals who attend our core events throughout the year are all discernible. Our beneficiaries are serving and retired members of the Police Service within Northern Ireland including both Police Officers and Police staff. The geographical work of the charity is primarily focussed on our activities within Northern Ireland. The purpose of our Charity has no identified harm as we seek to welcome and provide services to all members of the Police Service, both Police Officers and Police Staff, serving or retired and regardless of an individual who request support having any direct affiliation with our organisation. There is no private benefit other than coincidental benefit gained through the provision of services to the organisation. These are all costed and paid for at normal market rate and with the approval of Committee. Any private benefit gained by any service provider is directly as a result of the organisation seeking to fulfil its purpose and provide support and assistance to those it exists to serve. The only private benefit to any Trustee would be the payment, indirectly, of costs associated with attendance at National CPA events. These costs are approved by Trustees and treasurer and take the form of flight and accommodation expenses only. Ancillary costs associated with such trips are not paid from the organisations funds.
