Public benefits

The Objects of the Church are for the benefit of the public in the following ways: The provision of a church community where those who wish to worship, celebrate and advance their Christian faith can do so. The church promotes through a community orientated programme, a place that allows young and old alike to meet, develop not only in their

faith, but in their social skills and friendships in a safe and healthy environment. We reach out into the community with events and activities that include groups specifically for kids, youth, men’s and women’s to encourage them to find involvement not just in the church, but within the wider community. In our everyday work we endeavour, in practical ways, to relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind, including through the provision of counselling and support to all members of the community regardless of age, race, sex, or religious persuasion. Our work includes the prayerful, practical and financial support of both local and overseas missions and charity work in the advancement of education, medical help and food provision The provision of a building and regular worship services; that provide to the public a safe environment for the provision of public rituals and religious ceremonies; A contributing to the spiritual and moral education of adults and children; contributing towards a better society for example by promoting social cohesion, reconciliation, personal self esteem and social capital; Carrying out, as a practical expression of religious beliefs, other activities such as advancing education or resolution of conflict, or relieving poverty, which may also be charitable; the contributing to followers and adherents good mental and physical health; providing comfort to the bereaved and social care to the community. The intended beneficiaries are the general public, the local community and the membership and attendees of the church. There is no harm or potential harm in the carrying out of the purposes of House of Worship. In assessing the public benefit we assess there is no evidence of significant detriment or harm from what the organisation proposes to do, or practices, and that the benefits in the organisation carrying out its declared charitable aims far outweigh any negatives in this area. No private benefit is gained or intended to be gained by the purposes of House of Worship. If such a benefit is gained it is purely incidental.

What your organisation does

We are an independent community church based in East Belfast. Our foremost activity is of course to reach the community around us with the principles of the Christian faith. We endeavour to do this through regular church worship services for those who wish to worship and share their faith, and by regular social gatherings where we can impact

peoples lives in a practical and positive way by our faith. We also desire to contribute and minister to the wider community by reaching out in other programmes and events e.g. Cafe' church; HOW4Kids; HOW4Men; Souls Sisters. These provide not only a spiritual outlet, but also a social outlet, and communal activities for all who wish to participate. We support both home and foreign mission programmes and support other local charitable and community events and causes by our presence and financial contributions. We hold fundraising events for both our own charitable work and the work of others.
