(i) To promote the relief of elderly people in any manner which now is or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable within the area of benefit and in particular but not exclusively by: The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are: reduced isolation, improved mental wellbeing, social integration. These benefits will be evidenced
through feedback from beneficiaries, and evaluation reports. (ii) The provision of recreational and leisure time facilities; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are: increased physical and mental wellbeing, social interaction. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries such as letters and evaluation forms. (iii) The provision of advice and information on benefit entitlement; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are: increased uptake of relevant benefit entitlements and the difference this makes to the wellbeing of beneficiaries. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries, government statistics around benefit uptake. (iv) The provision of education, training and health promotion for older people and their carers; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are: increased awareness of support services, adding to personal knowledge, improved health and wellbeing. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries, government statistics. (v) Advocating on issues relevant to older people to raise awareness and promoting public education The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are: increased empowerment of older people, increased public awareness of issues faced by older people. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries, government statistics. We believe that these purposes will lead to no clearly identified harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are: older people in the East Belfast area There may be private benefits from these purposes, but these benefits would be incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to beneficiaries.

Belfast East Seniors Forum is a group of older men and women from all walks of life, representing over 130 older people's groups in the local area committed to combatting isolation. We are dedicated to improving both mental and physical health through a range of activities to all individuals, irrespective of their abilities, allowing the older
generation to live life to the full with dignity and respect. We make sure the voice of this generation is heard by the country's decision makers by having members present at relevant meetings.
