Public benefits

The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are the support, knowledge and assistance given to small community groups within the Harryville area. This can be demonstrated by feedback from the different groups in the Partnership. We regard this purpose as beneficial with no harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are firstly the groups within

Harryville but secondly any person resident who wishes to be involved with these groups or begin a new group. There is no private benefit deriving from this purpose. The direct benefits from this purpose are that any person in Harryville can learn about their culture and local history. This can be evidenced through social media and reports in the local press. These are open to all those residing in Harryville and also the general public. In providing these promotional events we do not perceive any harmful effects. We abide by the policies and guidelines of the various venues used. There is no private benefit to any of those involved in delivering this service. The direct benefit from this purpose is to improve knowledge and understanding, to assist residents to achieve qualifications and increase employment prospects. This can be demonstrated by direct feedback from course participants. The possibility of harm is assessed with each course. No private benefit is derived from this purpose. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose is the reduction in social division, an increase in knowledge and a greater understanding by local residents of those from different communities or cultures. This can be demonstrated by the numbers attending courses and engaging in cross community events. No harm is identified from this work. This work is open to those involved in the recent conflict but exhibitions, events are open to all the public. There is no private benefit from these events. The benefit arising from this purpose is to provide the residents of Harryville with activities and services that they otherwise would not have access to. This can be demonstrated by the number of attendees. Children in the Youth Club are required to abide by club rules to reduce the risk of injury while playing games. There is no private benefit arising from this purpose. The outcome of this purpose is for the residents of Harryville to have a pleasing and safe environment to live in. This can be seen by the various clean ups and projects that have carried out with local volunteers. Photographs are available on social media and the local press. We also receive ongoing feedback from residents. No harm will arise from this work. This work is for the benefit of local Harryville people but also any person visiting or working in this area. There is no private benefit arising from this work.

What your organisation does

The Harryville Partnership delivers a weekly youth club staffed by volunteers for children aged 5 to 14. The Partnership advocates on behalf off all the senior residents by proving weekly contact which includes a knitting class, a coffee morning, bus trips and many other activities. The Partnership works in conjunction with other groups to improve

the environment of Harryville and the River Braid. We provide information and organise events in the locality. We have worked with the police to address anti social behaviour.

Charitable purposes

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Harryville and its environs without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by association with the statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: (a) Advance community development by providing resources, facilities, support and information for community and voluntary groups and organisations and encouraging and assisting such organisations to co-operate to achieve their aims; (b) Promote culture and heritage and raise awareness of local history; (c) advance education and training; (d) advance conflict resolution and reconciliation and promote community relations, racial harmony and equality and diversity; (e) relieve those in need by reason of youth, age or other disadvantage by providing facilities and services and organising activities and outings; (f) advance environmental improvement, in particular by planting trees and reorganising.
