Public benefits

Our purpose is citizenship and community development. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are the promotion of rural regeneration, providing a community centre, promotion of volunteering and promotion of social inclusion. These benefits are evdenced by the wide range of community activities which take place in the building and our work

in improving the village. The purpose of our charity will lead to no harm. The charities beneficiaries are the prople of Poyntzpass and the surrounding area. We are an entirely voluntary management team and Trustees will increase skills such as corporate governance and finance but this is incidental and necessary for effective operation of the organisation.

What your organisation does

We provide a facility in whichthe local cross-community playgroup is housed and which hosts a range of cross community activities, for example, a parent and toddler group, older persons group, history society, yoga classes, set dancing and irish dancing. We have also been successful in applying for funding to enhance the environment of the village,

most recently through the Village Renewal measure of the Rural Development Programme leading to the instillation of new history signage, seating, village entrance stones and artwork. All of these activities have led to a greater involvement of people in the life of the village and helped with the sustainabilty of an isolated rural community.
