Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the groups purpose include provision of a range of social, educational and recreational activities and facilities for members of the local community living within Ballinamallard Village and surrounding rural district, providing them with the opportunity to avail of activities that assist improve their educational

attainment, health, social interaction and conditions of life through activities that would not normally be made available to them. Many of these activities and facilities provisions are organised by the group linking with statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, local groups and community members. Receiving feedback from participants and measurement of numbers attending activities and using facilities evidences benefits of the activities. The only private benefit flowing from our purpose are that Ballinamallard Support Group members and their families can participate in all activities and utilise any facilities provided; this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all members of the district can potentially benefit. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Ballinamallard Support Group.

What your organisation does

The Support Group provide for the public benefit of all people in need such as the Fermanagh Stroke Association who visit the facility and have access to exercise equipment supervised by physios endeavouring to improve the health of stroke victims. Our aim is to also provide them with an adequate meeting place so they can discuss their needs and

act upon them. Provision is made for talks on Stroke Awareness, defibrillator courses etc. which any member of the public can attend. They have access to kitchen facilities and disabled toilets. The Mallard Flyers Cycling Club use the premises every weekend. They are a cross community cycle group set up for the advancement of fitness and is open to all ages, gender and especially people new to cycling so as to introduce them to cycling skills, how to improve on their fitness, stamina and well-being. The development of skills programmes that aim to educate cyclists about cycling and enhancing what they get out of sport. It is mainly leisure rides but some members take it more seriously than others and take part in the various endurance events held around the Country which raises thousands of pounds for health and medical charities. Various courses take place such as bike maintenance, First Aid courses etc. The Taylor Exercise Group use our facilities every Monday night. They provide for a group of local ladies to keep fit. This is a cross community ladies group of varying age and levels of fitness and most of them originally started off as beginners. They have the use of a small gym and are coached and advised by qualified staff. The objective is to improve the fitness, health and well-being of ladies in the community. A further group known as the Leonard Exercise Group use the facilities every Wednesday night. They are a cross community group of ladies mainly an aerobics group varying in all ages under qualified supervision promoting fitness and well-being thereby improving the health of the ladies in the community.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to promote rural regeneration for the benefit of the public, to relieve poverty, unemployment, youth and the aged and promote the protection and preservation of health of and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Ballinamallard and it's hinterland(hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethic identity, disability, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
