Public benefits
To promote the well-being and mental health of those aged 50 plus in a twenty mile catchment area of the Windyhall Estate in Coleraine by providing a safe meeting place for socialising thereby preventing social isolation in a semi-rural area. The Club provides a number of activities which create a sense of togetherness among the beneficiaries and
creates the opportunity to share experiences and learn new skills. The beneficiaries also receive information through the Forum on a number of issues such as crime prevention, health and well-being, benefits, information on housing etc. thereby greatly reducing anxiety amongst those person aged 50+. It also promotes volunteering opportunities and ensures that beneficiary’s views and concerns are raised and addressed with local statutory and voluntary agencies which help to improve the services and facilities for the public benefit. The benefits can be measured by the attendance at events and by completed evaluation forms which demonstrate the enjoyment and success of events which the Club run. There are no private benefits and no harm.
