Public benefits
The Public benefit that flows from the relief of disability is an enhanced knowledge and understanding of the range of support services available and how to access them. The public benefits that flow from the promotion of health and well-being are: an improved quality of life for the family members/carers of people with a physical and/or learning
or sensory disability and a reduction in stress and a greater sense of hope. Enhanced opportunities for finding mutual support, sharing common issues and information. A reduction in social isolation and a consequent improvement in emotional well being for the beneficiaries. Increased capacity, knowledge and skills of family members and carers resulting in enhanced care and healthy development of those they are caring for. The public benefit that flows from the advancement of education is raised awareness among the general public of the needs and experience of the beneficiaries. These benefits can be evidenced through feedback from family members and carers, evaluations of the work of FPFA, records kept by Ardnashee Special School and Day Care Centres and the findings of community health and well-being surveys. No harm or private benefit arises from these purposes.
