Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include increased numbers of rehabilitated and the improved welfare of sick and injured birds, increased relief of pain and suffering to the birds and reduced levels of stress to the birds to ensure their release when practical and their health allows it. The provision of sanctuaries provides a mean
to protect the injured and sick birds to prevent any further cruelty. Benefits include improved education to ensure the needs of wild birds are met and proper care is administered, it will also educate the public on the correct treatment of the birds. The outworking of this improved treatment is a general moral uplifting amongst the general public who see the animals better and more humanely treated and to provide a means to promote the breeding of the birds listed by IUCN as endangered, at risk or vulnerable. The charity’s beneficiaries are the public at large who see the benefits and can help to ensure the humane treatment of the sick and injured birds and small mammals. These benefits will be demonstrated through feedback from owners and carers, through funders and through evaluation of their health prior to their release. The evidence of this will be seen in a reduced number of birds or small mammals suffering and dying, an improvement in their health and well-being and education for the public. The purpose of our charity will not lead to any harm but through the rescue, rehabilitation and care offered put an end to any suffering or in pain and help to ensure that endangered species are protected against distinction. The charity’s beneficiaries are provided to birds and small mammals in need and also to any owner or carer of a bird or small mammal in need. There is no private benefit for any of the trustees. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefits of our purpose are provided to our beneficiaries.
