Members of the Bayburn Historical Society attend a monthly meeting where they have the opportunity to increase their historical knowledge by listening to a range of speakers, whose talks cover a variety of topics so giving an understanding of how past people have shaped the development of our local community and the whole of N.Ireland. Publishing
the book "Twixt Bay and Burn" gave the Society the chance to collect and preserve old photographs and oral histories from Helen's Bay and Crawfordsburn thus giving people a greater insight and appreciation of the local history and encouraging them to continue studying and finding out more information. The main beneficiaries are our Society members and any attending visitors who learn about local history on a wide range of topics from our selected speakers. There is no private benefit and there is no potential harm from objects.
