Benefit element Purpose The band shall encourage it’s members to demonstrate a commitment to artistic excellence and the education of young musicians. What benefit flows from this purpose? The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include enriching the cultural lives of the general public particularly in counties Armagh, Down and

Tyrone by the high standard of the band’s musical performances. Enhancing the competence and confidence of band members making them better citizens and more actively involved in community life. Educating people enables them to engage in a constructive activity and experience the importance of team work and cooperation. Can you demonstrate this? These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from attendees at band performances and the general public. Is any harm or possibility of harm outweighed by the benefit? The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. Public element Who is the benefit for? The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public, attendees at band performances, members largely drawn from Armagh, Tyrone and Down who play or learn to play a musical instrument. Is there any private benefit? Is it incidental or necessary? The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is paying expenses to a tutor to ensure the standard of excellence the band aspires to is achieved. Members may transfer the skills gained to a different setting. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

The band brings together members of the community to engage in a musical experience by playing the accordian or a percussion instrument to a high standard. The band educates people in accordian or percussion playing and members pass on their knowledge and skills to the next generation of musicians to sustain the culture and heritage linked with

accordian bands in our community.
